Using Other AI Tools
Use ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot? Everything you’ve learnt here works in those tools too. The features just have different names and are in different places.
The most useful thing you made today is your travel brief: the instructions in your SKILL.md. They work in any AI tool. Only the place you paste them changes.
When you copy your SKILL.md, leave out the header (the lines between the two --- at the top), because only Claude uses it. You won’t need to zip or upload anything in these tools. You just paste in your brief.
These tools change often. They’ve all renamed or moved features during 2026, and some features depend on your plan or country. If something isn’t where we’ve described, look for a similar name, or ask a helper.
The same ideas, different names
| What you did | Claude | ChatGPT | Gemini | Copilot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saved your travel brief | Skill | Project instructions, or a custom GPT | A Gem (being renamed Skills on personal accounts) | An agent in Agent Builder (work accounts), or paste it into the chat |
| Connected your calendar | Connector | App (previously called Connector) | Connected App | Connector |
| Handed over a whole task | Task | ChatGPT Work | Spark, being renamed Task | Researcher agent (work accounts) |
| Scheduled a weekly brief | Scheduled task | Task | Scheduled action | Scheduled prompt (work accounts) |
Step by step in your tool
Save your travel brief
- Create a new Project called “My Travel Planner”.
- Paste your brief into the Project’s instructions.
- Start a new chat inside that Project and ask for a trip.
One difference from Claude: your instructions only apply to chats inside the Project. Claude decides when to use a skill on its own, while ChatGPT uses your brief whenever you’re inside the Project.

Connect your calendar: go to Settings, then Apps, and choose Google Calendar or Outlook.
Hand over a whole task: use ChatGPT Work (on the Plus plan and above) with the Tasmania request. If you’re not inside your Project, paste your travel brief into the request too.
Schedule a weekly brief: ask in a chat, for example “Every Monday at 8am…”, then find it on the Scheduled page. Paste your travel preferences into the request itself, because custom GPTs can’t run inside a scheduled task.
Save your travel brief
- Create a new Gem (or a Skill, if your account has switched over) called “My Travel Planner”.
- Paste your brief into its instructions.
- Open the Gem and ask for a trip.
Like a ChatGPT Project, a Gem only uses your brief when you open it.

Connect your calendar: go to Settings, then Connected Apps. Google Calendar and Gmail work especially well with Gemini.
Hand over a whole task: try Spark (also called Task) if it’s available on your account and in your country. If it isn’t, use Deep Research for the research, then ask for the itinerary afterwards.
Schedule a weekly brief: ask in a chat, then find it under Scheduled in the menu. Connect your calendar first if the brief uses it. You can have up to 10 scheduled actions at a time.
Microsoft has two different Copilots, so first check which one you have: the personal Copilot app, or Microsoft 365 Copilot through your work.
Save your travel brief
- Work account: create an agent in Agent Builder called “My Travel Planner”, and paste your brief into its instructions.
- Personal app: save your brief as a note, then paste it in at the start of each travel chat. It takes an extra step each time, but your brief works just as well.
Connect your calendar: in the personal app, go to Settings, then Connectors. If you’re signed in with a Microsoft account, Outlook may already be there. Google services have a Connect button. On a work account, your Microsoft 365 calendar is usually connected already.

Hand over a whole task: on a work account, use the Researcher agent for the research. In the personal app, work through the Tasmania request in stages, one step at a time.
Schedule a weekly brief: on a work account, create a scheduled prompt from the Copilot app. We couldn’t confirm scheduling in the personal app, so check whether you can see it.
The Stay in Control habits apply in any tool: read before you approve, keep payment and passport details to yourself, and check the facts before you book.
